Deposit and Cancellation Policy
Exclusive Use - Prepayment Non-refundable: An immediate payment of £500 is required to secure your date. A further 2 prepayments on a timescale agreed with the Manager.

Service Charges and Value Added Tax (VAT)
A service charge of 10% will be added to the food and beverage total. All prices quoted by Borthwick Castle are subject VAT at the standard rate of 17.5%. (Subject to any changes by HM Government).

Guarantees
The exact attendance must be stated 14 working days prior to the function. This number will be considered the guarantee, which is not subject to reduction. If the Hotel does not receive the guarantee according to the guidelines, above the ‘expected’ number will be considered the guarantee.

Cancellation Policy for Weddings and Functions
All prepayments are non-refundable. If you cancel less than 7 days before the meal function, the Hotel requires that you pay 100% of the estimated costs, based on menu and function arrangements.

Food and Beverage Prices
All food and beverage prices are subject to change without notice. However, prices are guaranteed with a signed contract.

Payments
All food and beverage accounts must be paid in full on the day of departure.

Payments on Account
Payments on account must be pre-arranged and approved by the Hotel management prior to the function.
Payment is required 14 days from receipt of our invoice/statement.
Non-payment within this period is subject to an additional 2% per month of the total payment.

Alcoholic Beverages
The Hotel can provide a cash bar or a non-cash bar on account. (Please note only one type of bar can be used at any one time.)
Bar closes at 12 midnight unless special arrangements are made for residents (regarding staffing) prior to the function.

Entertainment
All entertainment must conclude at 12 midnight and all non-resident guests must depart by 12.30am.

Personal Property
Borthwick Castle Hotel and their employees are not responsible for lost, stolen, broken, or forgotten articles. Please have someone in your party responsible for collecting any personal property.

Castle Property
Any damage caused to the Castle or its property or contents will be the responsibility of clients and their guests.

Confetti
The use of Confetti is not allowed inside the Castle.

Fireworks
Please be advised that no firework displays large or small will be permitted at the Castle.

Weather
Borthwick Castle Hotel cannot be held responsible for the weather, as it may affect an outside event. Any event planned for outside is done so at the guest’s own risk. Should the weather be inclement on the day of the event, the hotel will provide an alternative indoor space for the function.

Coaches
Please ensure that all coaches arranged to collect guests from the Castle are to come up the drive and wait in the turning area, not to wait outside the castle grounds with their engines running.
